High School Division – Social Studies/History
James Bond graduated with a M.A. in Education from San Diego State University in 2008. His first role in education was as a Student Activities Advisor at Southwestern Community College.
In 2011 he left that role to open a Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Services at National University in San Diego, California. He went on to open two other centers at other universities. In 2014 he was sent to Washington, DC, to provide a congressional briefing on how the University of California system serves military-affiliated students. His work with his students grew his love for social studies and the world’s cultures. After living two years in Asia and returning to North America to live a year in Mexico, he has experienced firsthand how histories inform cultures.
He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Arizona Global Campus, teaching a college success course. He also serves as a student advocate with the university. His passion for young people and his desire to help them succeed was the catalyst for his joining the Institute for Self-Mastery family.
“I am showing the current generations of African Americans they can do it, too. So the next generation can go even higher.” – CEO Robert F. Smith.
